Armitage Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
Armitage Golf Course first opened for play in 1974. The course was designed by Ault, Clark & Associates.
This short course is challenging and always well maintained. It has well-bunkered holes and narrow, tree-lined fairways on the par 3's, which force you to hit precisely straight tee shots or else they're in the woods.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees the course plays to 5,698 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,878 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 15, a par-5 that plays to 518 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 14, a par-3 that plays to 127 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 1, a 388 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 14, a 127 yard par-3.

Relatively short course, but still challenging because of excellent greens that are fast, roll well, but are hard to read. Several risk / reward holes including at least three that are drivable par 4's. Pace of play was slow when I was there because of an outing. Not sure what the usual pace of play is. The course is surprisingly hilly, with some excellent views from the higher tee boxes. Overall, a very good experience.

Pace of play is usually slow. One of the most heavily played courses in the Harrisburg area. We got stuck behind a high school golf team playing a practice round. But pace is slow because there are usually lots of inexperienced people on the course.
